While patrolling through the Leaota Wildlands, our rangers love to visit some of the old giants, which cover the back part of Badeanca Valley since centuries. The spruce are probably over 200 years old and have been naturally protected due to the inaccessibility of the area. Yet, without Anders‘ intervention, they might have been cut by now, as the Finnish investors, that bought the Forests in 2010, had plans to build forest roads even into the most inaccessible parts of the area. Many similar beech giants have already become victims of the first road they built in 2011. But now, these forests are protected for the future.
