SPRING FLOWERS SURVEY IN LEAOTA

With the end of winter, the botanists of Foundation Conservation Carpathia started the spring flower survey in Leaota.

Common Snow Drop, Dutch Crocus, Alpine Squill, Windflower, Yellow Wood Anemone, False Rue Anemone, Fumewort, Golden Saxifrage, Coltsfoot, Marsh-marigold, White Butterbur and many other plant species, color the subalpine meadows, forests and river-sides.

Among the spring flowers, the blue Liverleaf – Hepatica transsilvanica is a Carpathian endemic species. It is wide spread in Leaota Mountains, in beech and mixed beech-spruce forests.
